The first step in the process is to perform a roof Inspection. We will inspect the roofing system and all of its components for damages. The damages we find will be documented and photographed so that we can share them with the homeowner. This will give you the opportunity to make a more informed decision about moving forward with the repairs on your home.
If we believe your roofing system has been damaged from hail, wind, or any other storm-related issues then your insurance company will need to be contacted so a claim can be filed.
After the claim has been filed, your insurance company will assign an insurance adjuster to inspect your property for the reported damages. Iron Sight Roofing will meet the adjuster on site to make sure the damages are reported properly and in good faith.
Once the claim has been approved by your insurance company, you will receive a “Loss Summary” which will include material types and quantities that are currently on your home. Iron Sight Roofing will go over these documents with you, make sure you understand everything, and then we will then pick out the best materials and colors for your roofing system.
When the materials and color have been decided, the construction will begin. We start by removing the existing damaged roof and all components of your roofing system. If any hidden damages are found, it will get reported to your insurance company, and we will get the materials needed to complete the job and supplement your insurance company for the cost. If no issues are found, then we continue to install your new roofing system.
After the construction is completed, we will do a cleanup of your property and a final walk around to make sure you are satisfied with your new roofing system. Then we will send all documents and photos needed to your insurance company so that your claim can be closed out and completed.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Once your roof is approved the only out of pocket cost is your deductible and shingle upgrades if that is something that the homeowner is interested in looking into.
If insurance denies your claim the next step would be for us to contact the insurance company with our documentation of the damage to your home and file a reinspection. Once that is completed they will send out another insurance adjuster to review the damages to your home.
Insurance carriers are prohibited from raising your rates due to filing a claim caused by an “Act of God”.
The construction process typically takes about a day for most average sized roofing systems.
